We are the data fiduciary for personal data processed through sambodh-ias.com.
2. Information We Collect
You provide:
- Name, email, phone number (at signup)
- Payment information (processed and stored by Razorpay; we receive only the transaction reference, not card details)
- Your answers, notes, and study activity on the platform
Collected automatically:
- Device, browser, and IP information
- Usage data (pages visited, features used, time spent)
- Cookies and similar technologies for authentication and analytics
From third parties:
- Authentication data if you sign in via Google or similar providers
- Payment confirmation from Razorpay
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to:
- Operate and personalise the Service (e.g., adaptive assessments, spaced-repetition reminders)
- Process payments and prevent fraud
- Send transactional emails (receipts, account alerts)
- Send product updates and educational content (you can unsubscribe anytime)
- Improve the Service through aggregated, anonymised analytics
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. AI Processing
We use AI models from Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google to generate concept explanations, evaluate answers, and personalise your study experience. Your queries and answers may be sent to these providers for processing, under their respective enterprise privacy terms. We do not allow these providers to train their models on your data.
5. Data Sharing
We share data only with:
- Razorpay — payment processing
- Supabase — database hosting (data stored in compliant data centres)
- AI providers — content generation and answer evaluation
- Email/communication tools — transactional and update emails
- Law enforcement — when required by valid legal process
6. Data Retention
We retain account data while your account is active and for up to 3 years after deletion to comply with tax and legal requirements. You can request earlier deletion (see Your Rights below).
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Withdraw consent for marketing communications
- Export your data in a portable format

8. Security
We use industry-standard practices including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encryption at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify you of any breach affecting your data within 72 hours of discovery.
9. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13. If you are under 18, use the Service only with parental consent.
10. Cookies
We use cookies for:
- Essential functions (login, session management)
- Preferences (theme, language)
- Analytics (anonymised usage data)
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may break parts of the Service.
11. Changes to This Policy
We will notify you by email or in-app notice of material changes at least 7 days before they take effect.
